15 Months

Well Birch, it’s November 2009 and you are 15 months old already and still a step ahead of your mama and papa.  The dog bowls get overturned more often than not, but at least you help with the cleanup!  You are also very good at distinguishing between important things and baby toys.  We have three sets of keys for you and you still prefer the ones we need to lock the door or start the car!  Somehow those keys have more appeal…  We also got you a baby-size stroller so you wouldn’t get so frustrated with the big stroller.  Sometimes we have to take it away so you won’t terrorize the dogs with it.  We have to be careful not to do anything we don’t want you to copy, because you notice everything.  I told you it was dangerous to try to get off the stairs over the side, so off course you immediately decided to try it.  Your vocabulary expands by leaps and bounds every day, although you have to repeat things many times until the big people can understand you!   You also enjoy marching around.  You point at us and say “March, march!”  It’s more fun when you have marching partners!

Here are a few pictures from our October Arboretum visit.

The infamous stroller!

You like to say pumpkin but it comes out as “pump,” since you don’t do very many two syllable words yet!

The Arboretum was full of butterflies on their way south.  Here’s one having a sip of a Duranta “Amythest Falls.”

I especially love the expression on her face in the picture where she's roughhousing with Ron! I get to attend you in birth, but I miss the growing up....
